What audio formats does Earmarked support?

MP3, WAV, and other common formats. Basically, if your phone can play it, Earmarked can bookmark it.

How do I get audio files into the app?

Two ways: tap "Open Audio File" in the library to pick a file from your device, or share directly from Dropbox, Google Drive, or your file manager to Earmarked.

Where is my data stored?

Everything is stored locally on your device. Earmarked does not upload your audio, bookmarks, or voice memos to any server. See our privacy policy for details.

How does voice memo transcription work?

Earmarked transcribes your voice memos entirely on your device using a built-in speech recognition model. No internet connection or API key is required. When you export with transcripts, each voice memo is transcribed locally and the text is included in your CSV.

Can I use the exports in my editing software?

The CSV export works in any spreadsheet app and gives you timecodes, titles, notes, and transcripts in a clean format. The ZIP bundle includes your voice memo audio files alongside the bookmark data.

Is Earmarked available on iOS?

Yes. Earmarked is available on both the App Store and Google Play.

Does Earmarked work with DRM-protected audiobooks?

No. DRM-protected files (such as Audible audiobooks or Apple Music downloads) cannot be opened in Earmarked due to digital rights management restrictions.
